  Bloody Torso

comeaux,tamara-Spring's Death
Spring's Death / Sculpture / / Request Price

Description: "Spring's Death" No Paints used! All CLAY...It is about 7 to 8 inches tall.Mounted on with screws into to wood. The whole idea of gluing it to the wood doesn't appeal to me.Glue can over time lose it's strength. The whole piece was mounted and sculpted on the a piece of chicken wire or heavy duty foil that was screwed into the wood. The blood and open sores on this piece was made by hand mixing different types of colored clays .Then a clay glaze was put on those parts to give it more of a realistic wet look. Then I put black nails into its flesh in replacement of thorns.Sometimes I forget how long it take for the flesh gore stuff. It takes a while to get the blood and muscle texture.I use like 3-4 different color reds plus other colors mixed in.The pieces of clay can end of being as tiny as the tip of a pen.Working with tiny tools to make sure its blended. The green flesh as well( to get that decayed bloated look in the stem).I have to mix different color to get this effect. Its very time-consuming
